Awhile ago my father was telling me about a show he saw on the history channel called the "Human Weapon". He told me about the marital arts they showed and the power of each kind. At that moment I didn't really care to listen but during this past week i've seen a lot of things at my gym that got me interested. Many of you have heard of MMA fighters and i’ve had the luck of meeting and working out with a few who thought me a lot about exerting as much power as possible into a punch, kick, etc. they say swinging or punching straight will hurt your opponent but useing your limbs as wipes and hitting your opponent at the correct moment can exert unimaginable force. Just like in many sports that take your body to the edge such as parkour, its all about the timing and flawless movements of your body. Future
I work at applebees where a lot of people are either in college or out and all they seem to be going through is a struggle with no direction in their life. I guess somewhere along the line in my childhood I got the fantastic dream that once you graduate you join some major company and gain lots of money but after seeing all these graduates working at applebees and sometimes another job, it makes me think what will happen to me. Currently I have no idea of what I want in life an it’s slowly starting to worry me. I know that the opportunities are endless but maybe that is what makes it so hard. Theres so many choices so somewhere along the way we never chose and end up working for restaurants or clothing shops.
"Opportunities? They are all around us... There is power lying latent everywhere waiting for the observant eye to discover it."

Pyromania
Pyromania, the uncontrollable impulse and practice of setting things on fire. Over this weekend i was at a bonfire an a friend of mine seemed to be enjoying himself with the bright glowing fire a little too much. All men love to mess with fire on a constant basis but when does it cross from just playing with fire to full on pyromaniacs?

Horsepower
Recently in a lab in my physics class my teacher made us do a series of measurements to calculate our horsepower. Although this is only mathematically it still seemed to interest me alot so I have decided to show you how to do the same thing. Measure out 10 meters and time how fast you are able to run it (in seconds). You will need someone with you to time it to be accurate. Do this 10 times to get a general measurement and then calculate. First you must weigh yourself on a scale to find your weight once you do that multiply it by 4.45 and then divide it by 9.8 and that will be your mass in kilograms. Once you have that it’s time to find acceleration, which is your distance divided by your time which is then used to find force by multiplying acceleration with your mass. Lastly multiply force and distance and then divide it by time which will equal your power in watts. To get your power in Horsepower just divide watts by 746 and there will be your answer. This my seem confusing but if you take it step by step it shouldn't be difficult.
Healthy Hookah?
A popular item for persons eighteen or older happens to be the middleastern tobacco pipe, Hookah. The hookah is a water pipe that uses shisha, a moist tobacco usually mixed with a type of flavored syrup and when lit is filtered through cold water at the bottom of the pipe which is where many myths are thought up, one being the belief that the water filters all harmful agents from the smoke, which is wrong. The hookah's smoke which is cooled through water prevents the burning of your lungs but still contains as much harmful carcinogens as a normal cigarette. Another interesting fact that many may not be aware of is that Shisha is as addictive as cigarettes, in one 60 minute session it is possible to inhale 100 to 200 times the smoke of one cigarette which makes many to believe that smoking hookah maybe even more addictive then smoking a cigarette. Harmful effects of the hookah include lung cancer, dental diseases, and or heart disease. Hopefully this will provide the knowledge to make safer choices when indulging in new fads among young adults.
Virtual Slang
In today’s world for those who are interested in games with active typing their is slang that you must understand. Many have heard the words "owned" or "pwned" which are common words in today’s adolescent language. Well guess what, both of those words have come from gamers slang. It my surprise you to know that most of the common phrases, words and even new AIM abbreviations have come from gamers today and here are some words/abbreviations that so my see. Nerf means to reduce or make weaker. FTW is an abbreviation for "for the win".Uber means someone who plays well and Epic is used to describe a memorable or fantastic event, such as "that battle was Epic". If anyone has heard of anyothers please comment shareing your knowledge.

But it isnt called the Lancer Ralliart for no reason, this car literally lives up to its name (Rally-Art). With 212 hp high performance mivec engine and a suspension parrelleling the evo no one could resist such a Monster. This car is currenlty starting at 22,000 and is sold at all Mitsubishi dealerships.
Time Taker
Today after school I came home, fixed food, sat down, and turned on Gears of War 2. Like most men I have an Xbox Live account which I play on quiet alot. From the time I got home (3:10) I started playing not noticing as the time flu by and ended around 7:oo. I was amazed by the fact that I was so focused on smashing people into pieces that I have wasted around 4 hours of my life, which got me thinking "how many hours of my life have been wasted on video games?" So I went on trusty google to get some sataistics and this is what i found. The average child 8 to 12 plays 13 hours of video games per week, while teens age 13 to 18 years play 14 hours of video games per week, according to the survey. Nine percent of child gamers are pathologically or clinically "addicted" to playing video games, and Japanese researchers found that playing computer games stunted the development of the frontal lobe of the brain in teenagers.
The Price of Muscle
Lately I have been on certain supplements that are said to increase strength, volume etc. But what are the side effects of these drugs, and do they harm your body in anyway ? The answer is yes. All of these drugs have lethal side effects some of which are directly related to heart conditions in young adults. If you are like me and like to read the back of the bottle before you actually take it, you will notice many side effects from the supplement and in bold "recommended use for healthy 18 year olds and older." So when your about to indulge yourself in brand names such as "Nitrix" or "NO Xplode" look up some facts on the product and see if they may effect a certain condition you have, it could end up saving your life.

Mirror's Edge
For those who have heard of parkour and have become extreme fans of it, and also hold a love for video games this right up your ally. The brand new EA creation "Mirrors Edge" connects first person action to the world of parkour in this title based in a futuristic setting. The basis of the story revolves around a women named "Faith" who has to uses her skills to relay messages for a group, obviously on the wrong side of the law which is were the action comes into play. Since this title has not yet hit the stores I can't currently give my feedback on this game but it is highly anticpated and i wish this title the best of luck and, it hits stores november 11th.A Question on War
A few days ago I was asked a very simple question "if the draft was opened up and you had to go to war would you ?" Currently I am 17 and next summer I would be turning 18 which means I would be drafted, Reliazing this I noticed how truly young going to war at that age really is, so im going to ask you the same question. Would you or would you not go to war ?
War my sometimes be a necessary evil. But not matter how necessary, it is always an evil, never good.

Body of Lies
Body of Lies is a new movie that some of you may or may not have heard of, it is starring Leonardo DiCaprio and Russell Crowe in this action packed thriller about a C.I.A. agent over seas. The movie was excellent with a great premise, but one of the things that hit me the most about this movie, was Russell Crowe's character. Hes a man who is in charge of the operation in the middleast and throughout the film it shows him always having a lock on peoples location, although interesting this isnt the point that hit me. It was the fact that he was making critical desicions that effect many people while droping off his kids at school, talking to his wife or, just driving along the freeway, which shows a deep seperation between those making the decisions and those being effected by them. For those who have seen this movie and have noticed this please express your thoughts.
